Pholokgolo Primary School  Pretoria 1 Initiative

In today’s knowledge-intensive world, the significance of education has become increasingly obvious. Education and training are vital in providing future generations with means to pursue productive and active lives. This was good enough reason for Anthony Mkansi (Service Manager for North Eastern Region) and his team to identify Pholokgolo School as a deserving case for corporate social investment.

Pholokgolo is a primary school based in Ratjiepane, North-West province; this was once the pride of the village. When TFMC visited the school for inspection prior to the renovations, we found a school without windows, ceilings, doors or functioning bathrooms. We were greeted and welcomed with smiles, hugs and much curiosity from the learners. The vibe at school, the spirit of the children and the staff, were all overwhelming, considering the dilapidated state of their classrooms.

All work took place during the December school holidays. TFMC repaired the classrooms walls and floors, the verandahs and replaced broken classroom doors. The school has been restored to its former glory; it is once again the pride of the village. Bokamoso Building and Renovations were appointed as partners (construction) for this project; they delivered the project on time, on a limited budget and to a higher standard of quality. They donated small washing basins for the learners to wash their hands, and provided other services as part of their social responsibility to the school.

TFMC (CSI) is committed to making a positive and sustainable difference in the lives of as many South African learners as possible. We have so far been able to achieve this by involving our regional staff and financial investment.
